Salesforce and Anthropic launch Claudeforce, putting the CRM inside a Claude plugin

Salesforce and Anthropic on Aug. 26 announced Claudeforce, an expanded partnership that pipes Salesforce's data, workflows, and governance directly into Claude through a new plugin called Salesforce in Claude. Built on Salesforce's trusted enterprise harness — AIforce, Headless 360, Data 360, Tableau, and Slack — the plugin ships with 37 prebuilt sales skills, including meeting prep, deal-health review, and pipeline review, live for select pilot customers now with a broader beta planned for September. Salesforce says Claude-powered Slackbot is already driving 8.1 million hours of annualized productivity gains company-wide, up over 2x quarter-over-quarter — the internal case study the companies are using to justify pushing Claude further into the CRM. The deal builds on Salesforce's reported $5 billion stake in Anthropic (per Bloomberg), and it's the most substantial Claude news of an otherwise quiet week: Claude Code's and the Developer Platform's most recent releases came a day or two later, Aug 27-28, with nothing shipped since.

Compliance API session transcripts exit beta; Admin API reaches the CLI and SDKs

Anthropic's Aug. 26 platform release notes move the Compliance API's session-transcript endpoints for Cowork and Claude Code out of beta, and extend local-session transcripts (in beta, for Enterprise orgs) to Claude Science and to Claude for Microsoft 365 sessions in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. The same release brings the Admin API into the ant CLI and the Python, TypeScript, C#, Go, Java, PHP, and Ruby SDKs under client.beta.organization, covering members, workspaces, API keys, rate limits, service accounts, and encryption keys — usage/cost reports and Enterprise analytics endpoints remain curl-only.

Claude for Teachers expands from individual educators to whole school districts

Starting Aug. 28, Claude for Teachers — the free premium-Claude offering for verified U.S. K-12 educators that launched in July — is available as a free Enterprise product for entire schools and districts, with centralized accounts, SSO, and domain-based teacher verification. Organizations that sign up by June 30, 2027 get a year of free access, covered by a FERPA-aligned K-12 Data Processing Agreement and a commitment that educator inputs and outputs won't train Anthropic's models; Detroit Public Schools Community District will pilot it this fall.
